How to soothe Dry and Cracked feet Naturally I Eco Beauty


Cracked feet is a very common foot problem usually caused by dry skin, overweight, prolonged standing, use of harsh products, not taking proper care of the feet, etc. But most of the times, it is the neglect, the carelessness that you show towards your feet that results into cracked heels. You can always adopt home natural remedies for cracked heels to get smooth flawless feet. Here are some home remedies for cracked feet you can do.

Bath bombs

A warm water soak and with sea salt and moisturising oils will helps repair cracked, callused feet. Our favourite way is soaking your feet for 15min in tub filled with warm water and dropping one of our aromatherapy bath bombs that are made with dead sea salts and essential oils. You will love the way your feet feel after the soak.

Pumice stone

Use plenty of warm, soapy water to soften the skin of your feet. Then wet the pumice stone and rub it along the areas where you have dry, cracked skin. This will help soothe the area. Follow up this twice-daily treatment with moisturising lotion.

Natural Body Scrub

If you feel that the cracks under the heel does not go away with normal scrubbing of your feet, then you can use natural exfoliating scrub to apply on the cracked areas. We would suggest using one of our dead sea salt body scrubs that are great for your feet too. 

Honey

Honey is one of the most popular home remedies for cracked heels that you can use on your feet as it has antibacterial as well as moisturizing properties. All you need to do is to mix one cup of pure honey in tub with warm water and soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes. Now, you can scrub your feet gently to get supple feet.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is said to be really good for your cracked heel problems. Apply olive oil with the help of cotton balls on the affected areas of your feet. Massage the feet with this oil using the cotton balls in circular motion for 15 minutes. The dryness on your feet’s skin will be removed and this will prevent your feet from cracking.

Mashed bananas

Another home remedy that answers your question how to heal cracked feet is to prepare a good mashed banana mask. You can mash some ripe bananas and make it in a smooth paste. Apply this paste to the crack areas and leave it there for about 15 - 20 minutes or overnight. You can then wash it off. 

Lemon

You can also soak your feet in a tub of warm water mixed with lemon juice for 10 - 15 min to hydrate your feet. Then clean the feet and heels with a pumice stone and pat your feet dry.

Paraffin Wax

If you are experiencing pain from your cracked heels, then paraffin wax is the ideal ingredient that will give you relief from pain instantly. Mix the paraffin wax with coconut or mustard oil and then heat it so that the wax melts. Now, apply this mixture on the cracked heels after bringing it down to cool temperature. Apply this mixture, leave it overnight and wash it off in the morning and you will enjoy great results.

Rice

You can make an excellent scrub using ground rice. Simply grind up about 3 tablespoons of rice in your blender and pour it out into a small bowl. Add a little bit of honey and little bit of apple cider vinegar to create a paste. You can also add almond oil, olive oil or coconut oil if the cracking in your heels is really bad. Apply this paste directly to your dry, cracked heels, massage it in and put your feet up for 10 min to allow it to work on your dry skin. Wash off with water.

Turmeric

This is a very effective Ayurvedic remedy for cracked feet. Turmeric, the humble herb spice used extensively in Asian cooking, is rich in curcuminoids. If your cracks in feet are due to some infection like athlete’s foot, turmeric is the remedy for you. Applying a paste of turmeric powder on the cracks about 15 minutes before bath.
